Technology is always changing, and Google has just thrown down a bit of a gauntlet for anyone on the web. If your site is not mobile-friendly, they’re going to bump your rankings and give priority to those sites set up to look and work great on mobile devices.
That statement may spark a few questions in your mind.
So… what does that mean for me?
It means you’re going to want to make sure that your site is mobile friendly.
But how do I know if Google will consider my site mobile friendly?
Use the handy tool that Google has set up. You can find it here: Google Mobile Friendly Test You just have to type in the URL of your website, cross your fingers and wait to see how you measure up.
What if Google decides my site isn’t mobile friendly? (gasp)
Fear not friends. All is not lost. There is a plugin that is part of jetpack that can help make your site more mobile friendly – handily called MOBILE FRIENDLY THEME, and/or it might just be time to update your theme to one that has those glorious features built in.
If I built your website for you in the first place, then just get in touch and I’ll help you get sorted out. In fact, there’s a good chance that your theme is fully responsive if I’ve built it for you in the past year or two.
If I didn’t build your website, but you’re thinking maybe it’s time to give your web presence a bit of a facelift, I’m happy to have a chat about how I can help you get sorted out. Just use the contact form to get in touch.
